Install and debug belt conveyors for Filipino customers. This product is suitable for material transportation in various farms and organic fertilizer factories. Used for conveying bulk materials or packaged items with low packing density; Its technological advantages are reflected in its large conveying capacity, convenient maintenance, high degree of component standardization, and flexible conveying lines, which can operate as a single machine or synthesize multiple automated assembly lines, effectively reducing production costs.
A belt conveyor, also known as a rubber belt conveyor, is a continuous conveying device that uses a conveyor belt as both the traction and carrying component. Below is a detailed introduction:
Working Principle
After the motor of the belt conveyor starts, it transmits power to the drive pulley through the reducer. The tensioning device presses the conveyor belt tightly against the drive pulley to generate sufficient friction. When the drive pulley rotates, it drives the conveyor belt to run continuously by virtue of friction. Materials are evenly fed onto the conveyor belt at the loading point, move together with the belt to the discharge point, and are unloaded by gravity or scrapers.
Basic Components
- Conveyor Belt
It is the core component for carrying and conveying materials, consisting of a belt core, upper and lower cover layers, and edge protection layers. Common types include ordinary conveyor belts, steel cord conveyor belts, steel wire rope traction conveyor belts, and corrugated sidewall conveyor belts.
- Idler Rollers
They support the conveyor belt, reduce running resistance, and ensure stable operation. Classified by purpose, they include trough idlers, flat idlers, self-aligning idlers, and buffer idlers.
- Drive Unit
Composed of an electric motor, coupling, reducer, drive pulley set, and control device, it provides power for the movement of the conveyor belt. Drive pulleys are divided into steel smooth-faced pulleys, rubber-covered pulleys, ceramic pulleys, etc.
- Frame
Including head frame, tail frame, and intermediate frame, it is used to install the head, tail, idler sets, and other auxiliary devices of the belt conveyor. Types include wire rope frames and ground-mounted frames.
- Tensioning Device
It maintains sufficient tension in the conveyor belt to ensure friction between the belt and the drive pulley, preventing belt slippage. Common types are screw tensioning devices, vertical tensioning devices, counterweight carriage tensioning devices, and wire rope winch tensioning devices.
- Cleaning Device
It removes residual materials from the conveyor belt to avoid contamination and wear, including head cleaners and return side cleaners.
Characteristics
Advantages
It features large conveying capacity, simple structure, easy maintenance, low energy consumption, high reliability, and strong adaptability to materials. It can also realize fully enclosed conveying to reduce dust pollution.
Disadvantages
It has a high initial investment cost and a fixed conveying route. The angle for inclined conveying is limited, generally not exceeding 20°. Ordinary belts are not suitable for conveying high-temperature, corrosive, or explosive materials.
Application Fields
Belt conveyors are widely used in numerous sectors such as chemical industry, grain processing, power plants, ports, metallurgy, building materials, mining, thermal power plants, coal industry, light industry, and petroleum. They play a vital role in material transportation in industrial production, cargo sorting and loading/unloading in the logistics industry, and agricultural product conveying in the agricultural field.
Common Faults and Maintenance
Common faults include belt deviation, belt slippage, material spillage, abnormal noise, and belt tearing. Daily maintenance mainly involves regularly checking the rotation status of idler rollers, adjusting cleaners, inspecting tensioning devices, removing material buildup on pulleys, and checking conveyor belt joints and surface wear conditions.
