A bucket elevator is a continuous conveying machine that vertically lifts materials by using a series of buckets uniformly fixed on an endless traction member.

• Basic Structure: It mainly consists of five major parts, namely the head, drive device, intermediate box, tail, and lifting components. The head houses the drive mechanism; the drive device transmits power to the head spindle; the intermediate box supports most of the machine’s weight; the tail ensures the tension of the chain or belt; and the lifting components include chains or belts and buckets.
• Working Principle: The drive device, through components such as motors, reducers, and couplings, outputs power to the head spindle, driving the chain or belt to run at a constant speed. The buckets fixed on the chain or belt continuously lift the materials flowing into the tail inlet to the head and unload them from the head outlet.
• Types: According to the different traction methods, it can be divided into ring chain bucket elevators, plate chain bucket elevators, and belt bucket elevators. Ring chain bucket elevators are suitable for conveying powdery, granular, and small – block materials with low abrasiveness; plate chain bucket elevators have a large lifting capacity; belt bucket elevators have the advantages of low cost and smooth operation, but are not suitable for conveying highly abrasive materials.
• Features: It has the advantages of simple structure, small transverse size, large lifting height, good conveying capacity, small environmental pollution, and low power consumption. However, it is prone to blockage when overloaded, the buckets are easy to wear, and the conveyed materials are limited.
• Application Fields: It is widely used in various industries such as building materials, chemicals, food, mines, and metallurgy, and is mainly used to lift powdery, granular, and small – block non – abrasive and abrasive materials.
