Flat Mold Extrusion Granulator is a specialized piece of equipment that uses a flat, perforated mold to extrude and shape raw materials (often powdery or paste-like) into uniform granular products through mechanical pressure.
Its operation follows three key steps, ensuring efficient granulation:
- Material Feeding: Powdery, fibrous, or wet paste raw materials (such as biomass, chemical powders, or organic fertilizers) are continuously fed into the machine’s hopper.
- Extrusion Through Flat Mold: A pressure device (usually a rotating roller or screw) pushes the materials against a fixed flat mold—a metal plate with evenly distributed small holes. The materials are forced through these holes to form cylindrical or columnar “strands”.
- Cutting and Granulation: A rotating cutter installed on the other side of the flat mold cuts the extruded strands into small, uniform granules of the desired length.
- High Granule Uniformity: The fixed flat mold and precise cutter ensure consistent granule size and shape, which is critical for applications requiring stable product quality (e.g., fertilizer, feed).
- Wide Material Adaptability: It can handle various raw material types, including dry powders, wet pastes, and materials with certain fiber content (e.g., straw, sawdust for biomass granules).
- Simple Structure & Easy Maintenance: Compared to complex granulators (e.g., ring die granulators), its flat mold design is easier to disassemble, clean, and replace, reducing maintenance costs and downtime.

- Fertilizer Industry: Granulating organic fertilizer, compound fertilizer, or biological fertilizer to improve application convenience and nutrient release stability.
